Francis Murray Russell Flint (ROI, SMA 1915-1977)

Landscape & coastal painter in oils & watercolour. Born 3/6/1915, son of Sir William Russell Flint, the famous artist (who also produced posters for the railways). Educated at Cheltenham College and HMS Conway. Studied art at Grosvenor School of Modern Art, at the RA Schools and in Paris. Was art master at Hurstpierpoint College, Sussex. Lived at Burgess Hill in Sussex and Coffinswell, S.Devon and London W8. Was Vice President of RWS. Died accidently in Spain in 1977.

Produced artwork for LNER Post-War, W Region series.
