Stanley Roy Badmin (RWS, RE, ARCA 1906-1989)

Landscape watercolour artist, lithographer, illustrator & engraver. Born Sydenham, London 18/4/1906, son of a schoolmaster. Studied art at Camberwell School of Art and at RCA. Was art teacher and lecturer at Central School of Arts and Crafts. Elected to RWS in 1939. He illustrated several books including 'British Countryside in Colour', 'The Seasons', 'Shell Guide to Trees and Shrubs' etc. Very elaborate style. Lived at Bignor, Sussex for some time. Produced posters for BR.

Produced artwork for LNER Post-War series.
