John Earnest Aitken (RSW, RCA, ARWA, ARBC, BWS 1881-1957)

Painter of landscapes and coastal scenes. Born Liverpool. Son of James Aitken, a marine painter. Studied with his father and at Manchester and Liverpool Schools of Art. Lived many years on the Isle of Man, but also painted regularly overseas. Widely exhibited. Died 15/6/57.

Produced artwork for LNER Post-War series.
