This was commissioned as an etching by Cyril Barraud for the LNER in 1936. It was never used. Possibly it lacks focus. Harrogate is a very green spa town but maybe this composition overdid that. Most people will realise that the town was a foundational British spa. As far back as 1596 the term ?English Spa? was first recorded here.
