Sidney Agnew Mercer (FRSA 1904 -1971)

Painter of landscapes in watercolour, designer & illustrator. Elected to Royal Society of Arts in 1936. Produced drawings for local media. Served as an officer in WW2 in RAFVR. Produced murals including those in Royal Hall Harrogate. Was M.D. at Tattershall Advertising Ltd, Harrogate, Yorkshire and lived in the town for many years. Produced posters for BR.

Produced artwork for LNER Post-War series.
