Montague Birrell Black ( 1884-1964)

Poster artist & illustrator. Born Stockwell, London 29/3/1884. Educated Stockwell College. Did military and naval artwork. Was artist war correspondent for Toronto Star 1939-45. Lived W.Derby, Liverpool and Harrow, Middx. Was a White Star Line artist and was renowned for his map posters for the railways over many years. Produced posters for LNWR, M&GN, LNER, LMS, SR & BR
