Adrian Paul Allinson (ROI, RBA, PS 1890-1959)

Landscape painter, sculptor, poster designer. Born London 9/1/1890. Son of a doctor. Educated Wycliffe & Wrekin. Studied art at the Slade School under Tonks, Steer, Brown and Russell 1910-12, and won the Slade scholarship. Worked for a time in Munich and Paris. Teacher of painting and drawing at Westminster School of Art. A prolific exhibitor with the London group between the wars, his works received critical acclaim for his technical excellence and distinct individuality. was a great traveller he worked in Munich, Paris, North Africa, Greece, Spain and Ibiza. Lived London. Died 20/2/1959. Produced posters for GWR, SR & BR.

Produced artwork for Southern Railway Post-War series.
